Description

Description

This is a one piece clam shell ring for our 50 mm finder scopes and guide scopes. It will not fit any other finder scope. This solid clam shell has velvet lining and a compression ring that allows the user to rotate the finder/guide scope as needed and then lock it in place. A separate mounting base is included with 1/4-20 threaded holes (see drawings).

To attach the clam shell, remove the entire back end of the finder or guide scope. slide on the clam shell being careful not to pull up the adhesive backed velvet as you install it. Replace the back end parts and you are ready to go. Do not remove the dew shield to attach the clam shell as the lens will fall out onto the floor!

IMPORTANT: This clam shell is made to mount the F50 finder to a camera tripod. It is not made for use as a ring for a finder scope or guide scope as there is no adjustment possible. Hard mounting this ring to a telescope will result in the finder scope and telescope pointing at different areas of the sky. So do not order this clam shell ring for mounting to a telescope, it is not intended for this.
