Pyrex glass for stability and 99% dielectric coatings for amazing light transmission

The large diagonal mirror of the Meade Series 5000 Dielectric Diagonal is made of thermally stable Pyrex glass that has been overlaid with enhanced dielectric coatings.  These specialized coatings increase light transmission to 99% reflectivity over the visual spectrum.  Each diagonal is tested on an interferometer to assure great performance.

The aluminum housing of the Meade Series 5000 2 inch Diagonal is black anodized to last decades.  It is very versatile, too, due to the inclusion of both an SCT adapter and a 2 inch to 1.25 inch adapter.  This means you can insert the telescope side of the diagonal into 2" focusers, or you can mount the SCT adapter and Series 5000 2 inch diagonal on the rear of your Schmidt-Cassegrain or Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope.  Both 2 inch and 1.25 inch eyepieces and accessories are compatible with this heavy-duty telescope accessory.  A non-marring compression ring inside the adapter locks your eyepieces firmly in place without scratching their barrels.
