Meade's 15mm Series 4000  is a Super Plössl eyepiece that has been enhanced for a wide range of astronomy observations  The 4-element design, 52-degree apparent field of view, and special coatings reveal sharp images, and blackened lens edges keep internal reflections at bay. 

The included soft rubber eyecup prevents stray light from porch lights, etc. from entering the optics. Designed to utilize the very latest in optical glass types, Meade 4-element Super Plossl is an excellent general-purpose eyepiece. For observing hairline lunar and planetary detail, splitting close double stars, or for resolving faint nebulosity in deep space, the Meade Super Plossl optimizes the performance of any telescope type. It also operates well in conjunction with the air-spaced design of the Meade #140 2x Apochromatic Barlow.
